Fishing
The River Finn is one of the best salmon rivers in Europe. The season opens on March 1st and from then until May there are spring salmon generally in the range of 8-12lb. Some grilse will start to appear in may but the main run is in June through Julywith another run of salmonin late August to the end of the season on September 15th. The river is at its best in the falling spate with plenty of good fly water from Ballybofey upstream. The angler will need a Lough Agency rod licence and a permit to fish the stretch of his choice.Part of the river is owned by Mick Hucknell from 'Simply Red'Walking
Drumboe Woods is the ideal place for an idyllic stroll among some of the most interesting plant and insect life in the whole of Ireland. Drumboe Castle is a preserved building and is a place of great tradition..Lough Trusk Situated only ten minutes from the centre of the town, the shores of the lough offers a variety of beautiful scenic walks ranging from a leisurely stroll to a strenuous 4hour hike. Local walking groups will provide visiting walkers with an excellent choice of routes.
The Bluestack Way through the Bluestack Mountains is a national Waymarked Walk, 47k long with a further 63k interconnecting paths and walkways.
